Racing Incident Report

LOYAL DEVOTION jumped awkwardly with its head up. FOREST SPRING was slowly away and was further inconvenienced by VICTORY MARBLE which on jumping shifted out. Because of this, FOREST SPRING was checked off the heels of NEW ASIANS. On jumping, ROMANTIC SYMPHONY was steadied and shifted across behind other runners to take up a position at the rear but closer to the rail. About the 900 Metres, SURPLUS got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BORN DRAGON. Near the 600 Metres, ROMANTIC SYMPHONY got its head up when close to the heels of FOREST SPRING, then on straightening, ROMANTIC SYMPHONY was momentarily awkward on the heels of INDIAN ROAD. About the 200 Metres, LOYAL DEVOTION was steadied and shifted out to find running and go forward. F Coetzee (EASTERN MAGNATE) said the horse going into the race was well, its work had been satisfactory and today from a good gate had a nice run following HUANGDI. He said just before straightening as EASTERN MAGNATE was travelling so strongly, he shifted from behind HUANGDI to ensure he was not boxed in and give the horse a clear run in the Straight. He said shortly after this when put under pressure EASTERN MAGNATE failed to respond and was very disappointing. He was unable to put forward any explanation for the poor run. Before being allowed to race again, EASTERN MAGNATE will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. EASTERN MAGNATE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
