Racing Incident Report

After the field was being boxed, MAGIC OF MONEY became fractious and attempted to get under the front of its stall. MAGIC OF MONEY was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. After having discussed the horse's condition with its rider, the Veterinary Surgeon in his opinion said MAGIC OF MONEY was suitable to race. When MAGIC OF MONEY attempted to get under the front of its stall, its gates were damaged. To avoid an unreasonable delay which would have been required to repair the gates, MAGIC OF MONEY, which had drawn stall 5, and all runners that had drawn to its outside were moved out one stall. JAMIESON, which was standing with its head turned slightly to the near side, was slow to begin. STAR OF WAH YAN was slow to begin. LEGEND'S GLORY began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped KRISTOFFERSON. For some distance in the middle stages, GLASGOW KISS over-raced and proved difficult to settle. In the middle stages, MAGIC OF MONEY hung in and at the 700 Metres shifted ground and bumped BON BON. Some inconvenience was caused to STAR OF WAH YAN which was following. At the 700 Metres, UNIVERSAL GLORY shifted out abruptly when close to the heels of JAMIESON. After the 200 Metres, LUCK AND FORTUNE was shifted to the inside of SPEEDY CHAMPION which shifted out. Whilst the Stewards considered the riding of UNIVERSAL GLORY (D Whyte) in the run to the line did not affect the horse's finishing position and accordingly a breach of Rule 100(2) did not occur, he was advised he must ride all mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race whenever possible. JAMIESON was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
