Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, DASHING WINNER bounded in the air, then shifted in abruptly and bumped the hindquarters of SIROCCO. DANDY BUNNY, which was not standing well, was slowly away. When the gates opened, LUCKY COMBINATION bounded in the air. HIGH FIVE left the gates awkwardly. Running to the first turn, BLAZING BOB proved very difficult to settle, got its head on the side and hung in. In the early stages, DASHING WINNER proved very difficult to settle, about the 800 Metres when pulling got its head up and shifted out abruptly across the heels of MASCOT TREASURE. As a consequence of DASHING WINNER shifting ground, inconvenience was caused to TAMAR which was obliged to race wider. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, TAMAR hung out. In the Straight, WISH COME TRUE hung in. About the 200 Metres, HIGHLAND LEGEND was steadied when momentarily crowded by ALL THE GLORY. About 100 Metres out, LUCKY COMBINATION, which was closing the race off well, was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the hindquarters of DASHING WINNER. After the race, S Baster stated he was concerned with the action of the horse during the run. DANDY BUNNY was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said that the horse was somewhat short in its action in both front legs but at the time of examination was not lame.
