Racing Incident Report

HOLY QUEST jumped awkwardly. KEWINS, which was not standing well, left the gates very badly. On jumping, CYBER WISDOM threw its head about when being steadied from an outside gate across behind other runners to take up a position closer to the rail. For some distance in the early stages, KASHMAC was ridden along to try and maintain running inside TIM'S TONIC, then about the 1000 Metres was steadied when TIM'S TONIC shifted to a position on the rail. About the 1000 Metres, EQUUS ZEPHYRUS was steadied when racing close to the heels of ABSOLUTE. CYBER WISDOM, which was following EQUUS ZEPHYRUS, was inconvenienced and got its head up. For some time after this, CYBER WISDOM continued to race awkwardly with its head in the air. Near the 600 Metres, CYBER WISDOM got its head up when awkward between KEWINS and EQUUS ZEPHYRUS. Near the 300 Metres, GAGNANT was checked when crowded between HOLY QUEST which shifted out slightly and ABSOLUTE (S Dye) which momentarily shifted in. In the circumstances, no direct action was taken, but S Dye was told he must exercise greater care. About the 300 Metres, KASHMAC was held up behind EQUUS ZEPHYRUS and tight inside CYBER WISDOM. Then about 100 Metres out, KASHMAC was momentarily crowded by REALLY LUCKY which shifted in. Near the 200 Metres, TIM'S TONIC was checked when disappointed for running between HOLY QUEST which shifted out slightly from behind VIGOROSO and GAGNANT which was taken in slightly by ABSOLUTE. About the 100 Metres, TIM'S TONIC was steadied and shifted out across the heels of HOLY QUEST in an endeavour to find running and go forward. In the run to the winning post, CYBER WISDOM shifted in, as a consequence of this, inconvenience was caused to ABSOLUTE. Throughout the race, BABY WAVE SUPREME hung out badly. KASHMAC was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said he observed HOLY QUEST to be making an abnormal breathing noise. An endoscopic examination was carried out which failed to reveal any abnormality.
