Racing Incident Report

Acting on veterinary advice that SIR GALWAY was lame in its near side hind leg and in his opinion not suitable to race, it was withdrawn by order of the Stewards prior to Race 4. Before racing again, the horse will be required to pass an official veterinary examination and must perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. SINCERE AND FAITH left the gates very awkwardly, as a consequence T Culhane was almost dislodged. Just after the start, SINCERE AND FAITH and REFRESHINGLY were checked when crowded between LASER PRIDE which shifted in slightly and MASTER MAGIC which left the gates awkwardly and shifted out. In the opinion of the Stewards, the occurrence was accidental. In the early stages, SMART HORSE had a tendency to pull and race close to the heels of OCEAN ACROSS. On the turn, REFRESHINGLY was awkwardly placed behind REAL GOOD and tight inside OCEAN ACROSS. Near the 400 Metes, BUCK'S FIZZ was steadied when awkward just inside the hindquarters of SUPER PERFORMANCE. About the 200 Metres, OCEAN ACROSS was steadied when crowded for room between REFRESHINGLY and MASTER MAGIC which shifted in. BUCK'S FIZZ was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, REAL GOOD was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon at the request of the trainer. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that the horse trotted up sound. An endoscopic examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and he also was unable to detect any irregularity with the heart of REAL GOOD.
