Racing Incident Report

CLASSIC DANCER, which was not standing well and was inclined to be leaning on the outside of its stall, left the gates very awkwardly with its head up, shifted in and as a consequence lost a considerable amount of ground. SPEEDY FORWARD left the gates awkwardly with its head up, was then checked rather severely when crowded between KEWINS and MILLENNIUM DAWN which jumped awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. In the opinion of the Stewards, the occurrence was accidental. From a difficult gate, ABSOLUTE was obliged to race wide throughout and was not able to find any cover. About the 800 Metres, SPEEDY FORWARD steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of KASHMAC which itself got its head up and being steadied from the heels of DIAMOND KING. When SPEEDY FORWARD shifted out, some inconvenience was caused to HEALTHY BOBO which was obliged to race wider. For some distance near the 600 Metres, KASHMAC was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CALIFORNIA TYCOON and tight inside SPEEDY FORWARD. Near the 400 Metres, KEWINS, which was giving ground, was steadied to avoid the heels of ABSOLUTE which shifted in slightly. About the 300 Metres, DIAMOND KING was checked when crowded between KEWINS which was giving ground and CALIFORNIA TYCOON which hung in away from KASHMAC. In view of the circumstances, no action was taken. After the incident near the 300 Metres, CALIFORNIA TYCOON continued to lay in in the run to the line. For some distance near the 200 Metres, CLASSIC DANCER was held up behind MILLENNIUM DAWN. KASHMAC was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
