Racing Incident Report

CHIRAG was withdrawn on 30.9.01 on veterinary grounds [sore off fore foot (quarter crack)] and replaced by Standby Declared Starter UTMOST EASY. Before racing again, CHIRAG will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. The explanation submitted by Trainer T K Ng regarding having initially declared S Dye to ride UTMOST EASY was accepted. Permission was given for H K Yim to be substituted. Before being presented in the Parade Ring, BLAZING BOB had an adjustment made to its off side front plate. BLAZING BOB, which was restless and throwing its head about after being boxed, left the gates slowly. UTMOST EASY jumped with its head in the air, then about the 1000 Metres got its head up, became unbalanced and lost its position when racing close to the heels of KING CONFIDENT. From a difficult gate, GALLANT HORSE was inclined to race ungenerously, was obliged to cover a lot of ground and on the turn hung out. Approaching the 200 Metres, Apprentice M W Leung (SPLENDID PATROL) had the whip knocked from his hand by the whip of J Egan (DOUBLE MARTINI). GALLANT HORSE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
