Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the barriers, STORM BOY was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who was unable to detect any abnormalities and the horse was passed suitable to race. CHEERS UP was slowly away. TIME TO SURF left the gates awkwardly. About the 1800 Metres, SUPER SPLENDID got its head up when being steadied to avoid the heels of DRAGON FORTUNE which shifted in away from LEGEND'S GLORY to a position on the rail behind METRO TRAVELLER. In the circumstances, no action was taken. In the Straight, TELECOM TWIN hung in and proved difficult to ride out. About the 200 Metres, MONZA KING was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running between LEGEND'S GLORY and TELECOM TWIN which was hanging in and shifted ground. Over about the last 100 Metres, DRAGON FORTUNE was held up for running and as a consequence the horse was not ridden out in the run to the line. About right on the winning post, J Egan (TIME TO SURF) dropped his off side rein. MONZA KING was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
