Racing Incident Report
TEAM HONOUR was slowly away. TELECOM TWIN jumped awkwardly with its head up. Just after the start, ELITE was steadied when crowded for room between LION'S SHARE and DANCING SURPASS. Near the winning post the first time, TELECOM TWIN threw its head about when awkward on the heels of CHEERS UP. FLIGHT OF FANCY made the latter part of the Home Turn awkwardly and got its head up. Approaching the 200 Metres, TELECOM TWIN was checked rather severely when disappointed for running inside LION'S SHARE. To obtain running, TELECOM TWIN was shifted out. For a short distance near the 200 Metres, DANCING SURPASS was unable to obtain running between FLIGHT OF FANCY and DRAGON FORTUNE. Inside the 100 Metres, DANCING SURPASS and DRAGON FORTUNE came together. After the 100 Metres, FLIGHT OF FANCY shifted in and bumped SKY HAWK. J Murtagh (THE RICH MAN) said tonight he had been asked by the Trainer from a good gate to try and ride the horse back. He said he had been told THE RICH MAN when racing in a forward position was not finishing its races off. He said THE RICH MAN left the gates satisfactorily, near the 600 Metres the first time was involved in some inconvenience and the horse started to pull and the pace steadied. He said THE RICH MAN continued to pull, but was making some ground turning out of the Back Straight the second time and at this stage he thought the horse may have had some chance in the race. He said however over the concluding stages THE RICH MAN again gave ground and was disappointing. An inquiry into the reason for ELITE and DANCING SURPASS being checked at about the 500 Metres the first time was adjourned until next Saturday, 10 March 2001 at the Sha Tin Race Course. After the race, it was noted that TEAM HONOUR had lost its off side front plate. HIDDEN TALENT was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
