Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the course, TELECOM TWIN was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. He said the horse had some mild swelling over its off side hind cannon due to a superficial wound. He said the horse was not lame. He discussed the condition of the horse with the Trainer who said he was aware of the problem and it was then decided TELECOM TWIN was suitable to race. On jumping, DRIFTING AWAY was crowded for room between INVINCIBLE GENERAL and JUMBO LUCK. In the early stages, FLIGHT OF FANCY proved difficult to settle and for some distance raced with its head in the air. In the early stages and until about the 800 Metres when starting to give ground, INVINCIBLE GENERAL was obliged to race wide and without any cover. About the 600 Metres, TIME HONOUR was crowded for room and checked between MONZA KING and TELECOM TWIN which was hanging in . When TIME HONOUR checked, some inconvenience was caused to DRIFTING AWAY which was following. Rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, EQUINE SUPREMO was awkwardly placed behind EMPHASIS and tight inside HAIL WINNER. For some distance after the 200 Metres, HAIL WINNER had trouble obtaining a clear run inside EMPHASIS which after drifting out on the Home Turn was inclined to shift back towards the rail initially away from FLIGHT OF FANCY. About 100 Metres out, ROMANTIC VENTURE was awkwardly placed between JUMBO LUCK and MONZA KING which was shifting out. Throughout the race, TELECOM TWIN hung in. TIME HONOUR was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
