Racing Incident Report

AFFAIRE D'AMOUR jumped awkwardly with its head up. Just after the start, AFFAIRE D'AMOUR and WILFUL FLIGHT were checked when crowded between CLEVER CITATION which shifted in and JUST WIN which shifted out away from GOLDEN FARM. Because of the circumstances, no action was taken. ABSOLUTE, which was restless in the gates, was slowly away. About the 800 Meters, LOMBARD and STARLIGHT SUPREME brushed. In the middle stages, JUST WIN had a tendency to shift ground and also near the 800 Metres made contact with GOLDEN FARM. Rounding the turn, JUST WIN hung out badly, as a consequence inconvenience was caused to WINNING MASCOT and BANK ON IT, both of which were obliged to race considerably wider. As a result of JUST WIN hanging out badly, ample racing room was provided for WILFUL FLIGHT. About the 400 Metres, STARLIGHT SUPREME was steadied when crowded between LOMBARD which was hanging out and HEAVENLY WIND which shifted in slightly. Near the winning post, AFFAIRE D'AMOUR changed legs and shifted in abruptly away from WILFUL FLIGHT. Also near the winning post, CLEVER CITATION, which was making ground from a long way back, was steadied when crowded by GOLDEN FARM which shifted in slightly. J Egan (LOMBARD) said in the Back Straight the horse did not travel as well as expected and rounding the turn hung out, in the Straight continually changed legs and was not balanced as he thought it should be. J Egan said because of the way the horse was travelling in the Straight, he did not ride it out to the line as he normally would. Before the horse can race again, it will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GOLDEN FARM was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
