Racing Incident Report
Just after the start, AUCASH became unbalanced and dipped. Just after the 400 Metres, TOYMARK was steadied when crowded for room between AUCASH and ZIETENGO BOY. About 100 Metres out, AUCASH and ZIETENGO BOY came together. When asked about the improved performance of MY HEART, Mr T W Leung, Trainer of the horse, said he has not in any way varied the training routine of the horse, but today when compared with its last two runs, the horse was well down in rating class. He said also today he had engaged A Starke for the ride as he considered he is a strong Jockey and MY HEART can tend to be lazy in its races. Today he asked A Starke to ensure that the horse left the gates well and took up a handy position. Mr Leung also said the horse has been a little difficult at the gates, but at recent times has been having some starting gates practice and this also seemed to have improved the horse. He said because of the change of rider and the horse being down in class, he did expect the horse to run well in today's race. The explanations tendered by Mr Leung were considered by the Stewards to be acceptable. AUCASH was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
