Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the barriers, J Egan (VICTORY MOUNT) asked the Veterinary Surgeon to examine the horse. The Veterinary Surgeon said that the horse trotted up sound in his opinion and after he discussed its condition with J Egan, he decided that VICTORY MOUNT was suitable to race. KIWI STAR was slowly away, then got its head up and lost a lot of ground. Before racing again, KIWI STAR will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial (stalls test). In the early and middle stages, RED DIAMOND, which was racing in a forward position, wide and without any cover, proved very difficult to settle. Near the 600 Metres, VICTORY MOUNT was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LOMOND'S FAY. About the 600 Metres, KING OF JEWELRY struck the running rail. MUGHAL PALACE made the latter part of the Home Turn awkwardly and made contact with the hindquarters of DANSWINNER. Near the 200 Metres, W Woods (BORN DRAGON) dropped his whip. D Whyte (MANY HAPPY RETURNS) said on pulling up the horse made an abnormal breathing noise. Before being allowed to race again, MANY HAPPY RETURNS will be required to undergo an official veterinary examination. MANY HAPPY RETURNS was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, it was noted that MUGHAL PALACE had lost its near side front plate.
