Racing Incident Report

IDOL missed the start. About the 2200 Metres, HELENE VITALITY and VAL'S PRINCE were checked when crowded by CATELLA which had a tendency to get its head on the side and shifted in away from DALIAPOUR (J Murtagh) which was shifting to a position behind IDOL when in the opinion of the Stewards barely clear. It was decided in the circumstances not to take any direct action, but J Murtagh was severely reprimanded and told he must exercise more care and show a greater regard to his fellow riders. Near the 800 Metres, CATELLA was steadied when disappointed for running on the inside of ELA ATHENA. Near the 600 Metres, SECOND COMING became awkward on the hindquarters of HELENE VITALITY and shifted out. Also near the 600 Metres, ELA ATHENA was awkwardly placed between SILVANO and NATURAL WINNER which was giving ground. Also near the 600 Metres, MURGHEM was momentarily awkward behind VAL'S PRINCE. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, MURGHEM was held up behind CATELLA, then in the Straight, to obtain running, MURGHEM was shifted out. About the 200 Metres, CATELLA became unbalanced when attempting to take a narrow run inside IDOL which was giving ground and hanging in. HELENE VITALITY was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
