Racing Incident Report
On jumping, LIFO was checked and crowded between GUESS WHAT which shifted out and PLATINUM EXPRESS which was taken in by FAKEI FORTUNE which jumped with its head up and shifted ground. KING'S PREMIUM missed the start. Near the 800 Metres, DANCING SURPASS was checked when crowded between ENORMOUS WAY and LIFO (B Marcus) which shifted out slightly from the hindquarters of SUPER FAIRWAY to be in a position behind GUESS WHAT. It was decided to take no direct action, but B Marcus was reprimanded and told he must exercise far more care. At the conclusion of the inquiry, B Marcus was told he will be expected to provide inquiries with more straightforward evidence than he did on this occasion. On the Home Turn, CYBER GULCH shifted from behind PLATINUM EXPRESS which also shifted some ground. As a consequence of this, some inconvenience was caused to ENORMOUS WAY which shifted ground and made contact with DANCING SURPASS. For some distance in the early part of the Straight, FLIGHT OF FANCY was awkwardly placed behind FAKEI FORTUNE and tight inside AQUA PRINCE. About the 200 Metres, SUPER SPLENDID was accidentally hit on the off side ear by the whip of E Legrix (AQUA PRINCE). In the run to the winning post, ENORMOUS WAY shifted in. In the Straight, WINNING STAR was shifted out to find running. C Williams (PARADISE CHASE) explained he had been instructed by the Trainer to ride the horse where it was comfortable. He said as it turned out this was in a forward position. He said however in hindsight it would have been preferable to have ridden the horse further back. R Fradd (DANCING SURPASS) explained in the run to the winning post when under pressure the horse hung in as it had done several times in the past. He said as a consequence of this it proved difficult for him to ride out.
