Racing Incident Report
THE VITALITY STAR left the gates very awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of GREEN CHARM. BEETLE was slowly away. Just after the start, TRULY DELIGHTED got its head on the side and hung in, as a consequence of this, some inconvenience was caused to QUI VIVRA VERRA. After this, TRULY DELIGHTED continued to hang in and at about the 1000 Metres made contact with NATURAL CLASSIC. About the 500 Metres, STAR OF HONG KONG accidentally clipped the heels of SPARKO and stumbled. Rounding the turn and in the early part of the Straight, SPARKO raced awkwardly with its head up and just after straightening was awkward inside STAR OF HONG KONG. About the 200 Metres, CHARLIE'S ANGEL was checked when tightened between MAJESTIC STALLION and UNIVERSAL BOSS (E Legrix) which shifted out in an endeavour to find running. The crowding to CHARLIE'S ANGEL was extenuated when TRULY DELIGHTED rolled out momentarily as UNIVERSAL BOSS was endeavouring to go forward. In the circumstances, it was decided no action was taken, but E Legrix was reprimanded and told he must exercise far more care when shifting ground. When CHARLIE'S ANGEL checked at about the 200 Metres, THE VITALITY STAR, which was following, was checked in consequence. Shortly after this, THE VITALITY STAR was again inconvenienced when awkward between BEETLE and CHARLIE'S ANGEL. W Woods (MAJESTIC STALLION) said the horse was not racing truly in the Straight, as a consequence he did not ride it out to the line as he normally would. After the race, it was reported that MAJESTIC STALLION had bled from both nostrils. Following the race, it was reported that SPARKO had sustained a laceration to the outside of its near side heel.
