Racing Incident Report

FRUITFUL TRIP jumped awkwardly and just after the start made contact with EASTERN EXPRESS. THE BEST WINNER jumped very awkwardly. Near the winning post the first time, FULL THROTTLE was steadied when racing tight between FAT CHOY TOGETHER and FRUITFUL TRIP. Near the 600 Metres, SEA PEARL, which was not travelling well, became unbalanced when awkwardly placed between THE BEST WINNER and EASTERN EXPRESS which shifted out from behind STAR OF WAH YAN. Just after this incident, FRUITFUL TRIP was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SEA PEARL, shifted ground and as a consequence of this FAT CHOY TOGETHER was checked. In the opinion of the Stewards, the incident was accidental and no action was taken. Near the 200 Metres, BORN TO WIN was momentarily awkward on the heels of PRISTINE. Then just after the 200 Metres, BORN TO WIN was checked when disappointed for running between GUSCOTT and PRISTINE, both of which shifted some ground. In the run to the winning post, MERRY STAR had a tendency to lay in. W Woods (FRUITFUL TRIP) explained from an outside gate it was decided tonight to ride the horse more quietly than usual. He said FRUITFUL TRIP travelled satisfactorily in a rearward position, but was awkwardly placed near the 600 Metres and at this stage of the race he was conscious that FAT CHOY TOGETHER was tight on his inside. W Woods said the manner in which the horse finished the race off was in his opinion very disappointing. He did go on to say should the horse draw a more favourable gate in a similar race in future, it will be ridden more forward.
