Racing Incident Report

On arriving at the barriers, W C Marwing (HAPPY MOMENTUM) reported his horse had been kicked by the lead pony. HAPPY MOMENTUM was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. He could find no signs of abrasions, in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. On jumping, SPECIAL threw its head about and became unbalanced. Just after the start, MOMENTUM and HORNET came together. In the early stages, TRILLION WIN proved difficult to settle and got its head up. Near the 700 Metres, SPECIAL became unbalanced on the heels of JOKER. Approaching the 200 Metres, SPECIAL was awkward behind WILLIE WAY. After the 200 Metres, to obtain running, SPECIAL was shifted out. Approaching, rounding the turn and in the Straight, TRILLION WIN, which had been obliged to race wide throughout, hung out. For a short distance in the early part of the Straight, RED SUN was awkward on the heels of MOMENTUM. After passing the winning post, Apprentice Y T Cheng was dislodged from NEW TRUMPS. Being HORNET will be allowed to race again, it will be subject to an official veterinary examination. HAPPY MOMENTUM was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
