Racing Incident Report
GOOD FIT was late being presented in the Parade Ring as it was difficult to saddle. After GOOD FIT had proved difficult to saddle, it was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon before being presented in the Parade Ring and passed suitable to race. Mr D Cruz, Trainer of GOOD FIT, was told if the horse performs similarly again, action will be taken against it. On the way to the track from the Parade Ring, LIFO was backed into a gate. Apprentice Y T Cheng dismounted, the horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. TIME TO SURF was slowly away. Just after the start, STRATEGIC MOVE and FRUITFUL TRIP bumped. Turning out of the Straight the first time, CYBER GULCH and INVINCIBLE GENERAL raced tight between GOOD FIT and HAPPY HERO. About the 1200 Metres, IRON TYCOON became unbalanced when momentarily crowded by GOOD FIT which shifted in slightly away from CYBER GULCH. Because of all the circumstances, it was decided no action could be taken. About the 800 Metres, INVINCIBLE GENERAL accidentally clipped the heels of CYBER GULCH and knuckled. DRAGON WIN made the turn at the 800 Metres awkwardly, shifted out, this inconvenienced TIME TO SURF and obliged it to race wider and inconvenience was also caused to DRIFTING AWAY. In the early part of the Straight, IRON TYCOON (J Saimee) was steadied and shifted out across the heels of DRAGON WIN to go forward. As a consequence LIFO was checked. J Saimee was told he must exercise care when shifting ground. After the 100 Metres, STRATEGIC MOVE and GOOD FIT came together. In the run to the winning post, BRUIN SUPREME hung out. E Saint-Martin (BRUIN SUPREME) was reminded of his obligation to refrain from using the whip forward the horse's shoulder. S Dye (HAPPY HERO) said from a difficult gate he had to make some use of HAPPY HERO in the early stages to find a position. He went on to say HAPPY HERO travelled nicely on the bit until about the 600 Metres when he shifted to be three wide to ensure he was not boxed in, but shortly after that when put under full pressure, HAPPY HERO did not respond as expected and was well beaten just after straightening. He was unable to put forward any real explanation for the disappointing run. Before racing again, HAPPY HERO will be subject to an official veterinary examination. HAPPY HERO was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
