Racing Incident Report
CULLINAN jumped awkwardly with its head up. On jumping, FRAT RAT dipped. In the Straight, FRAT RAT raced greenly and shifted ground, and approaching the winning post when making ground was shifted in. In the Straight, STERLING PERFORMER hung in. S Dye (FLEETING TIME) said he had been instructed by the Trainer to ride the horse just behind the lead. He said it was pointed out to him by the Trainer FLEETING TIME was having its first start in this preparation and if possible he was to try and ride behind the anticipated leader VICTORY MARBLE. He said FLEETING TIME left the gates nicely, took up a position behind and to the outside of VICTORY MARBLE and when A-GAIN EASY raced on its outside and slightly ahead, he shifted to be on the rail behind VICTORY MARBLE. He went on to say FLEETING TIME made the turn near the 600 Metres awkwardly, got its head up, shifted out slightly and momentarily lost its position. CULLINAN was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, it was reported that SUPER FORCE had the off side hind bandage trailing. Following the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said that the near side hind fetlock bandage on STERLING PERFORMER had worked loose and come off.
