Racing Incident Report
DRAGON WIN jumped somewhat awkwardly with its head up. On jumping, FLORAL CHEERS and WISHES bumped. CLASSIC DANCER jumped awkwardly, then approaching the Home Turn ran off. The performance of CLASSIC DANCER was considered by the Stewards to be unacceptable and before being allowed to race again, the horse will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. In the early part of the Straight, PROSPEROUS DYNASTY was awkwardly placed on the heels of PLATINUM EXPRESS. Also in the early part of the Straight, EXPRESS LOT was shifted in in an endeavour to find running. About the 300 Metres, EXPRESS LOT was checked rather severely and shifted out to avoid FLORAL CHEERS which was giving ground. Consideration was given to two objections. The first objection was lodged by D Whyte, the rider of EXPRESS LOT, second placegetter, against TREASURE STAR (Apprentice Y T Cheng) being declared the winner, alleging interference over about the last 100 Metres. The second objection was lodged by J Egan (LEAD TO WIN), third placegetter, against TREASURE STAR being declared the winner, also alleging interference over about the last 100 Metres. Dealing with the objection lodged by D Whyte first, the Stewards were of the opinion that about 100 Metres from the line TREASURE STAR shifted in towards LEAD TO WIN, Apprentice Y T Cheng immediately stopped riding and pulled off. After this incident, however, LEAD TO WIN continued towards the running rail, causing interference to EXPRESS LOT. In these circumstances it was decided that the objection ought to the overruled. Dealing with the objection lodged by J Egan, as previously reported, TREASURE STAR did shift in towards LEAD TO WIN at about the 100 Metres, but any interference caused to that horse by TREASURE STAR was in the opinion of the Stewards a long way from being sufficient to justify an alteration of the placings. This objection was therefore also overruled. Subsequent to the objection hearing, J Egan was advised that in the opinion of the Stewards there were barely sufficient grounds for him to have lodged an objection and serious consideration was given to the deposit he lodged being forfeited. When LEAD TO WIN shifted in away from TREASURE STAR, it necessitated J Egan to stop riding and pull off. Approaching the winning post, PLATINUM EXPRESS was shifted out.
