Racing Incident Report
On arriving at the Start, E Saint-Martin reported that there was blood in the mouth of LOOK WHO'S ANGEL. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said that the blood in his opinion was as a result of the horse having loosened a tooth and was suitable to race. When the gates opened, LUCK AND FORTUNE threw its head up, bumped the outside of the gate and as a consequence Apprentice S K Sit momentarily lost the use of his off side stirrup iron and the horse got well back. GRANDSTAND jumped awkwardly, as a consequence of this B Doyle was momentarily unbalanced in the saddle. CULLINAN left the gates badly, then about the 1000 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by SUNNY. About the 500 Metres, SALLIAN EXPRESS brushed the running rail. Near the 400 Metres, EASY STAR was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of BLESSINGS' PARTNER. When shifting ground, EASY STAR made contact with GOOD TIMING. On straightening, LUCK AND FORTUNE became unbalanced when awkward on the heels of GRANDSTAND. In the Straight, EASY STAR hung in, because of this W C Marwing changed the whip into his right hand. GREAT CHIEF and SUNNY were sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
