Racing Incident Report

Just as the gates opened, WE KNOW WHEN reared and lost a lot of ground. SUPER CONQUEROR jumped awkwardly. DIAMOND AND GOLD jumped awkwardly and bumped the outside of its gate. Turning out of the Straight the first time, CITY FORTUNE was steadied to avoid the heels of GUSCOTT (E Legrix) which shifted in when barely clear. E Legrix was advised to exercise care at all times when shifting ground. When CITY FORTUNE steadied, APPLIED SUPREME, which was following, became unbalanced, got its head up, shifted ground and caused some tightening to GRAND PRIZE. For some distance near the 600 Metres, KOWLOON'S BLESSING was awkwardly placed between BRAVO VICTORY and SUPER CONQUEROR. About the 500 Metres, GRAND PRIZE was steadied from the hindquarters of GUSCOTT. Near the 400 Metres, AMERICAN CHAMPION was steadied from behind ASPIRATION and shifted to the inside of DIAMOND AND GOLD to find running and endeavour to go forward. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, KOWLOON'S BLESSING and ASPIRATION raced tight. About 100 Metres out, GIANT FIGHT collapsed. After the race, Apprentice M W Leung was examined by the Club's doctor and permitted to fulfil his engagement on DELIGHTFUL SPECIAL. BRAVO VICTORY was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
