Background:
Cristian Demuro was Italy’s champion apprentice in 2009 and took the first of his senior titles in 2011 at age 19. He broke Umberto Rispoli’s record for most wins in an Italian season with 264 in 2012. One of France’s leading riders now, Demuro – like his older brother Mirco – has enjoyed notable success in Japan, with five Group 1 wins there. Demuro’s Group 1 wins in Europe include two victories in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe with Sottsass (2020) and Ace Impact (2023). He also rode both horses to win the Prix du Jockey Club, a race he has won three times overall atop Brametot (2017), Sottsass (2019) and Ace Impact (2023).
