Background:
Lamorlaye trainer Francis-Henri Graffard is a native of Charollais in France. He gained his grounding in the industry within National Hunt breeding in France and is a graduate of the inaugural Darley Flying Start programme. Before setting up as a trainer, he gained experience working for John Oxx and Jehan Bertran de Balanda and as assistant trainer to Alain de Royer Dupré. Erupt gave Graffard a first Group 1 win in the 2015 Grand Prix de Paris before adding the 2016 Canadian International. He quickly evolved into one of the world’s leading trainers and has won a string of Group 1 races with Vertical Blue, Goliath, Rouhiya, Sweet Lady, The Revenant, In Swoop, Watch Me, Channel and Bateel.
