4 FLAGSHIP SHINE (P104) D Whyte CP Began well, took nice spot behind leader, came 1 off rounding circle, put into race at 400m and soon went clear, margin reduced late on but still held off rival for a solid victory.
1 STERLING CITY (N152) B Prebble -- Taken back from outside gate, shared rear 7ls from top end, always well back to turn, produced a strong finish making many lengths in straight but just couldn't peg back winner last 50m.
3 DEEP THINKER (N159) T Berry -- Positioned in midfield but always wide from a tricky draw, 4 wide with cover 5ls away in middle stages, improved turning and made run with eventual 2nd but lacked dash to match principals final furlong.
2 BULLISH FRIEND (N333) M L Yeung TT Did share of work early to work across from a wide gate and race outside leader, right up there on circle, looked a place chance at 200m but couldn't sustain effort after working early.
6 FAT CHOY HONG KONG (N253) Z Purton TT Moderate beginning, raced behind midfield 6ls or more from lead, had an easy time to turn, switched wider turning and made some steady progress without looking likely. (respiratory noise reported)
12 RUMBA KING (M172) T H So P Settled in a midfield role, 4-5ls back on rails, not asked in mid-section, not much room early in straight, made some minor progress but just stayed on at 1 speed last 200m.
9 TOUR DE FORCE (N297) A Suborics B Positioned around midfield early, racing 2 wide, was keen in middle stages and shifted 3 wide with cover, 3-4ls down turning, finished off just fairly in straight.
14 TRUMP (P106) H W Lai TT Went forward but never on track, raced 3 and 4 wide without cover on circle, kept improving position to join in turning, folded from 200m when early work told.
11 KA YING KID (P189) Y T Cheng XB/TT Took up a spot in midfield, 4ls or so off lead, fair run to bend, didn't finish off as had done recently just battling away in straight.
8 LONGWAH SUPREME (M293) C K Tong H/TT Drifted back to race 6ls off lead in running line, behind midfield throughout, came widest in straight and closed to 200m before run ended.
7 FIONN'S TREASURE (M386) K C Ng -- Pressed forward from a tricky gate but unable to slot in, raced 3 wide with cover 2ls back, struggling turning and faded out of contention in straight.
10 DOUBLE GLORY (P181) C Y Ho H Shared rear 7ls or so away, still had field to beat on bend, never in contention and only passed tired runners in run to line.
13 PRETTY ONE (CL418) C Y Lui TT Fair getaway, raced 3ls back behind pace trio, close enough turning but was held up and carried back by tiring leader and never really go a crack.
5 ROCKET LET WIN (P330) G Mosse TT Showed good early speed to push on and take lead, kept advantage to top of straight but soon under pressure, compounded quickly to be beaten a long way.
