14 REAL SPECIALIST (M143) D Whyte -- Angled into running line to race 3Ls or so back, appreciated decent speed early, tracked into race well turning and let down with a strong sprint to hit lead at 300m, always in control late.
2 SWEET ORANGE (M289) Z Purton TT Even getaway, raced 3Ls back on fence, bumped a bit at top turn, kept improving rounding bend, switched inside and closed strongly to snatch 2nd late.
7 SUPREME KNIGHT (CL313) D Beadman SR/H/TT Showed speed and ridden more prominently, positioned ideally 1 out 1 back, had run of race to turn, hit lead briefly at 300m, stayed on well and lost 2nd in shadows of post.
3 PERFECT SPRINT (CL107) O Doleuze TT Fairly away, raced in midfield 5Ls back on rails, easy time to bend, came out and made gradual progress in straight to make frame.
4 GROOVY (CL401) T Angland B-/TT Showed early toe, settled behind the leader, used a bit with decent speed on, right there turning, looked a place chance but just held ground final 200m.
10 MARK GOOD (M005) B Doyle -- Slotted into a midfield role, 5Ls back in running line, aided by speed on, made some even ground in straight but never really threatened.
9 FOREST STAR (CJ167) M Chadwick TT Taken down to rear from an awkward draw, raced 8Ls away on rails, began to improve at 500m, passed a few horses but set too great a task.
11 PRESTO (CJ048) W M Lai CP- Settled behind midfield 7Ls back in two wide line, quiet trip in mid sections, same margin back to turn, one paced in straight.
12 MY WHISKY (CK071) P Strydom B/TT Displayed usual speed to race outside leader, pressed inside horse throughout setting some decent sections, still there turning but soon tired and dropped right out late.
13 IRON HAWK (M197) H W Lai B1 Pressed on early but unable to slot in, posted 3 wide without cover 2Ls back, used too much in first half, faded approaching turn, dropped right out.
6 FUN HEROES (CL207) M Du Plessis B Ridden up to take the lead, set tempo but worried by outside horse for first part, bit keen in mid section, lost advantage at 300m and weakened out. (See racing incidents.)
5 WINE WIN (CG018) M L Yeung B- Didn’t go forward as usual, ended up sharing rear 8Ls or so back racing two wide, still last turning, never factored. (See racing incidents.)
8 MASTER ELITE (CJ210) J Lloyd -- Faded back to settle 3 wide at rear, best part of 8Ls away, worked wide to 400m, no finish in straight.
1 CAPITAL K (M224) K C Leung -- Checked early and blundered, raced 6-7Ls back on rails, ridden along on bend, struggled and was well beaten at finish.
