For a short distance near the 400M had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run. After the event, rider stated that the instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said his mount raced a little keenly during the event and finished the race off only fairly and as a result may not have run out a strong 1600M. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 495.

Again near the 100M rider was required to stop riding and straighten when the horse continued to lay in. Over the concluding stages rider dropped his right rein - Race 514.
