Racing Incident Report
SUNNY BABY and THE GOOD DEAL, which both kicked a rail in the Parade Ring, were examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be suitable to race.
TOWARDS SUCCESS, which kicked a rail on entering the track, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be suitable to race.
On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to G ONE EXCELLENT was refitted.
M M JOHNNY began only fairly.
APEX TOP shifted out at the start, resulting in AURORA HERO being crowded for room inside THE GOOD DEAL.
U W BROTHER shifted out on jumping and inconvenienced SUNNY BABY.
BOYS PARTY began awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From the outside barrier, TOWARDS SUCCESS was steadied on jumping and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, BRAVE POWER failed to muster speed and was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching and passing the 1200 Metres, TOWARDS SUCCESS travelled keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions.
Near the 800 Metres, GOLD COMET was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 600 Metres, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE was shifted out away from the heels of GOLD COMET which was commencing to give ground, resulting in TAKINGUFURTHER being taken wider.
At the 500 Metres, BOYS PARTY raced tight between GOLD COMET and SUNNY BABY which was shifted to the outside of AURORA HERO. Then approaching the 300 Metres, BOYS PARTY was inconvenienced when crowded for room outside SUNNY BABY which was taken out by AURORA HERO.
Passing the 50 Metres, S De Sousa (AURORA HERO) dropped his whip.
When questioned, S De Sousa stated that after riding his mount along in the early stages, AURORA HERO became unbalanced of its own accord near the 1200 Metres and lost ground. He said he had to ride AURORA HERO vigorously after this in an attempt to maintain its position and prevent G ONE EXCELLENT from crossing AURORA HERO. He said despite being ridden along AURORA HERO was reluctant to maintain its position and he was unable to prevent G ONE EXCELLENT from shifting in approaching the 800 Metres. He added that after the 800 Metres AURORA HERO travelled satisfactorily, however, again became unbalanced of its own accord at the entrance to the Straight. He said after this AURORA HERO switched lead legs and then finished the race off satisfactorily. When AURORA HERO became unbalanced near the 1200 Metres, SUNNY BABY, which was following, got its head up when being shifted out behind that horse in consequence.
After the race, it was reported that CIRCUIT SPLENDOR had sustained an abrasion to its right hind coronet.
A veterinary inspection of GOLD COMET and BOYS PARTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SUNNY BABY and WINWIN THIRTYTHREE were sent for sampling.
