Racing Incident Report
BIZ POWER was withdrawn on 22.3.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, BIZ POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
THE ONE began awkwardly and lost ground.
HARRIER JET shifted out at the start and bumped LUCKY HERO.
MR GENUINE shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of DOUBLE VALENTINE which became unbalanced. MR GENUINE was then shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
After the 1050 Metres, GREEN CARD was steadied away from the heels of E MASTER (C Schofield) which shifted in when not properly clear. C Schofield was advised to exercise more care.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, MR GENUINE got its head on the side and lay out. MR GENUINE was then left racing wide and without cover passing the 900 Metres.
Approaching the 800 Metres, HARRIER JET commenced to travel keenly and was awkwardly placed behind DOUBLE VALENTINE.
Approaching the 400 Metres, HARRIER JET raced tight outside LADY FIRST which shifted to the outside of DOUBLE VALENTINE to obtain clear running.
After the race, Z Purton was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of MR GENUINE which he said did not finish off its race. A veterinary inspection of MR GENUINE immediately following the race found that horse to have a substantial amount of blood in the trachea. Before being allowed to race again, MR GENUINE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of HARRIER JET immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
LUCKY HERO and GREEN CARD were sent for sampling.
<25/3/2019 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Surgeon reported that DOUBLE VALENTINE was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, DOUBLE VALENTINE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
