Racing Incident Report
NAVAS, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 30.10.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, NAVAS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
BIG TIME BABY was slow to begin.
LEAN PERFECTION began only fairly.
ENCORE BOY began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped GO PUBLIC.
Shortly after the start, GO PUBLIC and HEARTS KEEPER were shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Also shortly after the start, STRATHCLYDE and SMART LEADER bumped as a result of both horses shifting ground.
After the 700 Metres, LEAN PERFECTION was left racing wide and without cover.
SMART LEADER got its head on the side and made the turn after the 700 Metres awkwardly.
Near the 100 Metres, NUCLEAR POWER was severely checked when disappointed for running between SOLOMON’S BAY and ENCORE BOY which shifted out marginally when giving ground. In this incident, ENCORE BOY and SOLOMON’S BAY both became badly unbalanced due to contact with NUCLEAR POWER. As the Stewards were satisfied that NUCLEAR POWER had not established running due to there being insufficient room to improve between ENCORE BOY and SOLOMON’S BAY at the relevant stage, no further action was taken.
A veterinary inspection of BIG TIME BABY and ENCORE BOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
RAGING BLITZKRIEG, PERPETUAL TREASURE and GO PUBLIC were sent for sampling.
