Racing Incident Report
After beginning only fairly, FANTASTIC SHOW was slow to muster speed.
Near the 1000 Metres, PADDINGTON was steadied away from the heels of FLYING NOBLE which was also steadied and shifted in to obtain cover behind MULTIMAX.
Approaching the finishing line, MY HONEY and PADDINGTON made contact.
S Clipperton (GRADE ONE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 350 Metres he directed his mount out around the heels of NONE OTHER and in so doing bumped MULTIMAX which resulted in that horse becoming unbalanced, shifting out and bumping the hindquarters of FLYING NOBLE which in turn became unbalanced and then lay in despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in MULTIMAX being severely checked when buffeted for room between GRADE ONE and FLYING NOBLE. In this incident, GRADE ONE also became unbalanced due to making contact with MULTIMAX on several occasions. S Clipperton was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 18 October 2017 and to expire on Monday, 23 October 2017 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In addition, S Clipperton was fined $15,000.
Throughout the race, NONE OTHER travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of MULTIMAX and NONE OTHER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GRADE ONE and FLYING NOBLE were sent for sampling.
<3/10/2017 Additional Veterinary Report>NONE OTHER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. NONE OTHER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A Lee yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, NONE OTHER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
