Racing Incident Report

HEI HEI POSH lost its left front plate on jumping.
ALWAYS SOMETHING was slow to begin.
DANEWIN EXPRESS began only fairly.
From a wide barrier, JAMESINA was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages, ENABLING failed to muster speed.
Near the 1000 Metres, DANEWIN EXPRESS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WINNING MASCOT.
DANEWIN EXPRESS was held up for clear running until passing the 250 Metres.
WINNING MASCOT was also held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight behind HORSE APLENTY and inside DUAL HAPPY.
Over the final 150 Metres, WINNING MASCOT then raced in restricted room between DUAL HAPPY and HORSE APLENTY.
When questioned, D Whyte stated that he had been asked to ride MR MEDICI in about 4th or 5th position behind the lead if possible. He said in accordance with his instructions he rode his mount positively in the early stages and attempted to obtain a position behind DUAL HAPPY, however, that horse did not continue improving as he anticipated it would. He said when AGIAAL maintained its position behind DUAL HAPPY, MR MEDICI was left racing in a three wide position without cover approaching the winning post on the first occasion. He added therefore he allowed MR MEDICI to stride forward into the lead rather than remain racing wide. He said MR MEDICI was able to obtain the lead without having to be ridden along and then after obtaining the lead travelled comfortably. A veterinary inspection of MR MEDICI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of JAMESINA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BEST SHOW, AGIAAL and HORSE APLENTY were sent for sampling.

<3/4/2014 Additional Veterinary Reports>The Veterinary Officer reported that ALWAYS SOMETHING was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, ALWAYS SOMETHING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
