Racing Incident Report
TIME WINNER was withdrawn on 11.2.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inappetence) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter HAPPY HOMING (O Doleuze). Before being allowed to race again, TIME WINNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
GOLDEN GUNNERS was slow to begin.
HAPPY HOMING blundered at the start.
From wide barriers, DEMON DEMON and LYRIC ACE were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Shortly after the start, SPEEDYGONZALEZ and PLAIN BLUE BANNER made heavy contact due to both horses shifting ground.
Making the first turn approaching the 1000 Metres, PEACEFUL MISSION and HAPPY HOMING raced tight inside HAPPY CHAMPION which was steadied away from the heels of JADE PIPPO (K Teetan) which shifted in when not quite clear. K Teetan was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
After the 1000 Metres, LYRIC ACE got its head up when being checked away from the heels of PLAIN BLUE BANNER.
After the 800 Metres, PLAIN BLUE BANNER was left racing wide and without cover.
In the early part of the Straight, GOLDEN GUNNERS got its head on the side and lay in under pressure, resulting in its rider changing his whip into his right hand.
A Suborics (KICK SERVE) dropped his whip at the 300 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of KICK SERVE immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm and an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in its trachea. Before being allowed to race again, KICK SERVE will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
PEACEFUL MISSION, SPEEDYGONZALEZ and JADE PIPPO were sent for sampling.
