Racing Incident Report
GROOVY was slow to begin.
HAPPY YEAH YEAH shifted out at the start, resulting in SUDDEN THUNDER being crowded for room inside WINNIE’S HORSE.
MY GOAL, which was leaning on the outside of its stall, began awkwardly and shortly after the start shifted out and bumped DIAMOND START.
From the outside barrier, DANCE FOR GOLD was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres, FLYING SMART was awkwardly placed outside the heels of MY GOAL which, when being ridden along, got its head on the side and lost ground.
RED COURAGE travelled wide and without cover until after the 800 Metres.
GROOVY proved difficult to settle in the middle stages and near the 750 Metres was steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN SCALPEL. After this, GROOVY continued to prove very difficult to settle and near the 600 Metres shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of MY GOAL, causing FLYING SMART to be crowded for room inside the heels of SUPREME ESSENCE.
Near the 700 Metres, GOLDEN SCALPEL was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GREAT SPIRIT.
Shortly after entering the Straight, GREAT SPIRIT shifted in when disappointed for running between HAPPY YEAH YEAH and RED COURAGE.
Passing the 150 Metres, GREAT SPIRIT was steadied when disappointed for running after attempting to improve into tight running between HAPPY YEAH YEAH and WINNIE’S HORSE which shifted out marginally.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that DANCE FOR GOLD had lost its left front plate and that DIAMOND START had sustained a wound to the left front coronet.
SUDDEN THUNDER, HAPPY YEAH YEAH and GROOVY were sent for sampling.
