Racing Incident Report
DARPANA and MI SAVVY began awkwardly.
Shortly after the start, DOUBLE MASTER was awkwardly placed outside the heels of ORIENTAL PROSPER which shifted out. ORIENTAL PROSPER was then shifted back in to relieve the tightening to DOUBLE MASTER.
After the 600 Metres, EVER BEAUTY raced in restricted room between PO CHING KING and POLYMER WIN which shifted in. A short distance later, EVER BEAUTY was crowded for room inside POLYMER WIN when bumped by PO CHING KING which became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by EVER BEAUTY.
D Whyte (PO CHING KING) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 150 Metres he failed to take sufficient measures to prevent his mount from shifting out, resulting in POLYMER WIN being taken out across the rightful running of DOUBLE MASTER which was checked and lost the running to which it was rightfully entitled. D Whyte was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 10 January 2013 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Tuesday, 1 January 2013.
Over the concluding stages, POLYMER WIN was awkwardly placed outside PO CHING KING and close to the heels of ORIENTAL PROSPER. Because of this, POLYMER WIN was not able to be fully tested.
Mr D Cruz, the trainer of EVER BEAUTY, reported that as EVER BEAUTY had been weakening badly in its recent races when ridden into a forward position, from today’s inside draw, he instructed the horse’s rider to ride EVER BEAUTY more conservatively in the early stages to see whether it may be able to close off its race better than it had been of late. He said he was once again disappointed with the performance of EVER BEAUTY and, depending on the circumstances of the future races, he will likely revert to having the horse ridden more positively in the early stages.
JUN DAO and MI SAVVY were sent for sampling.
