Racing Incident Report
GLORY OF INDIA was withdrawn on 19.10.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice [lame right fore (foot injury)]. Before being allowed to race again, GLORY OF INDIA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.SECRETARY OF STATE and SICHUAN LEGEND were slow to begin.HEI HEI POSH began awkwardly and then in the early stages was left racing wide and without cover and after the 1200 Metres was allowed to stride forward to race outside the lead.Shortly after entering the Straight, YUAN㷧 FORTUNE was shifted in to obtain clear running.When questioned regarding the performance of SICHUAN LEGEND, Y T Cheng stated that he had to ride his mount along throughout the race to maintain its position. He said approaching the 1100 Metres he rode SICHUAN LEGEND aggressively to improve its position so as to avoid being taken wider, however, SICHUAN LEGEND was not able to improve its position and consequently was taken into a three wide position by BURGUNDY MAC which shifted away from the rail. He said he continued to ride SICHUAN LEGEND along to improve its position and after the 800 Metres was left racing without cover. He said he rode SICHUAN LEGEND along vigorously for the remainder of the race, however, SICHUAN LEGEND did not respond to his riding and was disappointing. He added although SICHUAN LEGEND had previously run 4th at Happy Valley, he advised connections that, in his opinion, the horse may be better suited by racing at Sha Tin. A veterinary inspection of SICHUAN LEGEND after the race did not show any significant findings.A veterinary inspection of after HANDSOME BATCHELOR after the race did not show any significant findings.KHARU, YUAN’S FORTUNE and HEI HEI POSH were sent for sampling.
