Racing Incident Report
On arrival at the barriers, the tongue tie carried by FORTUNE WINNER was replaced.
FORTUNE WINNER, which was fractious in the barriers, lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and consequently was slow to begin.
From the outside barrier, VICTORY MASCOT was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Shortly after the start, HEAR THE ROAR blundered when badly crowded for room between ENDOWING and CIRCUIT STAR which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. In this incident, HEAR THE ROAR bumped the hindquarters of ENDOWING, causing that horse to become unbalanced.
Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, CARTOON FAY FAY was left racing wide and without cover and near the 1200 Metres was allowed to stride forward to obtain a position closer to the rail.
Near the 800 Metres, CIRCUIT STAR got its head up and proved difficult to settle when racing close to the heels of TRES MAGNIFIQUE which itself was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SOLDIER which was being steadied after being taken wider by SHINY DAY which shifted away from the fence after the 1000 Metres. LUCKY CHOICE and FORTUNE WINNER, which were following, were hampered in consequence.
Shortly after entering the Straight, ENDOWING was shifted to the inside of the heels of SHINY DAY to obtain clear running.
Close to the finishing line, ENDOWING was steadied away from the heels of SHINY DAY (T H So) which shifted in. T H So was warned for allowing his mount to shift ground when not showing due care and attention.
A veterinary inspection of SOLDIER after the race did not show any significant findings.
HEAR THE ROAR, SHINY DAY and ENDOWING were sent for sampling.
