Racing Incident Report

On arrival at the barriers, the tongue tie fitted to GOLDEN GUNNERS was replaced.
THE PRINCE began awkwardly.
DAPPER BOY was slow to begin.
MING HOI GLORY began very awkwardly, shifted out abruptly at the start and in doing so made contact with GOLDEN GUNNERS, resulting in that horse being taken out onto TREASURE MAN which was crowded for room inside HEARTLAND. After this, despite being ridden along, MING HOI GLORY failed to muster speed.
Near the 1300 Metres, DAPPER BOY was bumped by HOLYANGELHOLY which shifted in.
For some distance after the 700 Metres, MING HOI GLORY got its head on the side and hung out.
Rounding the Home Turn, NIGHTLIGN was bumped by SHAREMA FEELING which shifted out.
Throughout the race, SOLAR UP travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of BEAR ELITE, M Chadwick stated that he had ridden the horse in its final gallop leading into today’s race and, in his opinion, that work had been good. He said he was able to obtain a position behind the speed as instructed in the early stages and BEAR ELITE travelled strongly after this. He said rounding the Home Turn BEAR ELITE gave him the impression that it would account for THE PRINCE which was leading and ultimately was successful, however, BEAR ELITE came under pressure shortly after entering the Straight and, despite being ridden along, did not close off the race as expected. He said after the race BEAR ELITE’s action felt comfortable and he was not able to offer any excuse for the horse’s disappointing run. A veterinary inspection of BEAR ELITE after the race did not show any significant findings.
THE PRINCE and DAPPER BOY were sent for sampling.
<3/10/2012 Additional Veterinary Report>BEAR ELITE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. BEAR ELITE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A T Millard yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in both hind legs. Before being allowed to race again, BEAR ELITE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
