Racing Incident Report

At declaration time, B Prebble was declared as the rider of both SILVER OSMANTHUS and SUNNY FAY. It was established that B Prebble had a firm commitment to ride SILVER OSMANTHUS. As such, the Stewards permitted M Zahra to be substituted as the rider of SUNNY FAY. For this declaration error, B Prebble was fined $2,000. ELITE OF CHIU TON was withdrawn on 5.6.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FRESH AIR (W C Marwing). PALEPALE was also withdrawn on 5.6.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore foot). Before being allowed to race again, ELITE OF CHIU TON and PALEPALE will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUNNY FAY was slow to begin. KICK SERVE was checked when crowded for room shortly after the start between LUCKY TURBO which shifted in and SIMPLE which was taken out by SILVER OSMANTHUS. Near the 1100 Metres, FRESH AIR momentarily raced in restricted room between MASTER RIO and JUN JU which shifted in. Near the 850 Metres, FRESH AIR was steadied away from the heels of JUN JU (C W Wong) which shifted in when not properly clear. C W Wong was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. Near the 200 Metres, SUNNY FAY shifted out and bumped KICK SERVE. Throughout the race, LOADS OF JOY travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of MASTER RIO after the race did not show any significant findings. SIMPLE and SUNNY FAY were sent for sampling.
