Racing Incident Report

CASA JUNIOR began awkwardly and then shifted in abruptly across the heels of DRAGON VICTORY shortly after the start. Over the final 100 Metres, SOUNDS EXCELLENT got its head on the side and hung in under pressure. Over the concluding stages, PANTHER RUN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SOUNDS EXCELLENT. Because of this, PANTHER RUN was not able to be ridden out as it otherwise would be. Throughout the race, GLORY OF INDIA travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding his riding of SUPER STRIKE, T Angland stated that after the 400 Metres he positioned his mount to obtain a run between GLORY OF INDIA and GOLDMEN Y Y. He said at this time SUPER STRIKE was closing off the race only fairly. He said he rode SUPER STRIKE to establish the position between those two horses, however, approaching the 200 Metres he was obliged to steady his mount when disappointed for running between GLORY OF INDIA and GOLDMEN Y Y which shifted in under pressure. He added he shifted SUPER STRIKE to take a run to the outside of GOLDMEN Y Y, however, at this time HAPPY CHA CHA was positioned to his outside and inside the heels of BEST NOODLE and as he believed that he may cause interference to HAPPY CHA CHA had he continued to shift out, he elected not to continue shifting ground. T Angland was advised that his riding of SUPER STRIKE, in particular his lack of vigour in endeavouring to improve his position between GLORY OF INDIA and GOLDMEN Y Y, had come under notice. He was advised to ensure he rides his mounts in such a manner so as to leave no room for query. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that EUPHEMISM had lost its right front plate. Also after the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that LET’S GOAL had sustained a superficial wound to the left hind cannon. A veterinary inspection of SUPER STRIKE, SICHUAN LEGEND and GLORY OF INDIA after the race did not show any significant findings. GLORY OF INDIA, DRAGON VICTORY and LET’S GOAL were sent for sampling.
