Racing Incident Report
EXPEDIENCE and ALL DELIGHT began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, FORTUNE SIX and INVICTUS were crowded for room between KING OF THE DAY and DIAMOND KNIGHT which shifted out. In this incident, INVICTUS made contact with the hindquarters of KING OF THE DAY, resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced. Near the 600 Metres, BEAR EXPRESS (T Angland) got its head on the side and hung out across the heels of BEAUTY KING. T Angland reported that after this BEAR EXPRESS raced greenly and shifted ground on a number of occasions. After the 600 Metres, BEAUTY KING raced in restricted room between BE-FABULOUS and CROESUS. After the 400 Metres, KING OF THE DAY was steadied away from the heels of DIAMOND KNIGHT (U Rispoli) which shifted out. U Rispoli was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he leaves sufficient racing room for other runners in future. Approaching the 200 Metres, BE-FABULOUS was checked when crowded for room between BEAR EXPRESS and BEAUTY KING which, after initially shifting out and away from CROESUS (Apprentice T H So) of its own accord, was then taken out by CROESUS. Apprentice So was advised that whilst he did put the whip away and attempted to straighten CROESUS prior to making contact with BEAUTY KING, in similar circumstances he must make every effort to prevent his mounts shifting ground and causing interference to other runners. W M Lai, the rider of FORTUNE SIX, 8th placegetter, was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out right to the end of the race at least hands and heels where circumstances permit. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that KING OF THE DAY had lost its right hind plate and that EXPEDIENCE had lost its right front plate. A veterinary inspection of CITY DELIGHT after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. EXPEDIENCE, DIAMOND KNIGHT and KING OF THE DAY were sent for sampling.
<10/4/2012 Additional Veterinary Report>The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that CROESUS was lame in the left hind leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, CROESUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
