Racing Incident Report
BULLISH CHAMPION blundered at the start. HELENE FUN STAR was slow to begin. BRAVE KID was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was checked when crowded for room between NOBLE ALPHA and CHATER WAY which was taken in by VAUGIRARD which in turn was taken in marginally by NEW VISION. From a wide barrier, SILVER GRECIAN was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, HANDSOME ZULU failed to muster speed. After the 200 Metres, NOBLE ALPHA got its head on the side and lay out and near the 150 Metres bumped CERISE CHERRY. NOBLE ALPHA continued to lay out over the concluding stages. In the Straight, MAJESTIC FALCON hung in and proved difficult to ride, particularly over the concluding stages. For the majority of the race, HELENE FUN STAR and OUTDOOR PEGASUS travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, M L Yeung (FULFIL A WISH) stated that rounding the Home Turn he directed his mount to the outside of CERISE CHERRY in an attempt to secure clear running between that horse and NEW VISION. He said that when he was unable to shift out from behind CERISE CHERRY at this time, he shifted FULFIL A WISH back in to take advantage of a run that he felt might develop between CERISE CHERRY and BULLISH CHAMPION. He said however that after shifting FULFIL A WISH in that a clear run between CERISE CHERRY and BULLISH CHAMPION did not immediately eventuate and at the same time he became aware of a run which was developing to the outside of CERISE CHERRY and inside NEW VISION. He added as he shifted FULFIL A WISH to the outside of CERISE CHERRY, NEW VISION moved in which resulted in him being disappointed for running between those two horses. Following the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on SILVER GRECIAN at the request of Trainer J Moore. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SILVER GRECIAN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of HELENE FUN STAR after the race did not show any significant findings, however, an endoscopic examination was not able to be conducted on the horse post-race. BULLISH CHAMPION and MAJESTIC FALCON were sent for sampling.
