Racing Incident Report

HORACE’S EMPIRE, which was leaning on the outside of its stall, was slow to begin. TREASURE GOLD was crowded for room at the start between NEW VISION and EASY WINNER which shifted out. From a wide barrier, FLYING TOGETHER got its head up when being steadied with a view to shifting across behind runners. Near the 1200 Metres, FULFIL A WISH and AMIGO bumped as AMIGO improved to be racing inside the heels of CLEARLY SILVER. Near the 1100 Metres, AMIGO raced in restricted room between FULFIL A WISH and CLEARLY SILVER. After this, CLEARLY SILVER was shifted out to relieve the tightening to runners on its inside. Prior to the 800 Metres, AMIGO, which was proving difficult to settle, raced in restricted room inside BULLISH CHAMPION and after the 800 Metres was steadied away from the heels of that horse. The performances of NEEDLES AND THREAD and FLYING TOGETHER, which both finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, NEEDLES AND THREAD and FLYING TOGETHER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Throughout the race, JUMBO GOLD and NEEDLES AND THREAD travelled wide and without cover. After the race, K C Leung reported that after being taken towards the rear from the wide barrier, PRETTY ONE then travelled keenly throughout the event and for this reason was then not able to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of PRETTY ONE after the race did not show any significant findings. An inquiry into the reason for FULFIL A WISH being checked near the 1000 Metres was adjourned until a date to be fixed. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that FULFIL A WISH had lost its left front plate. NEW VISION and EASY WINNER were sent for sampling.
