Racing Incident Report

DILIGENT III was slow to begin. PERFECT CHEERS jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped TALLEY CLOSE. From a wide barrier, FIONN’S DRAGON was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 1100 Metres, QUANTUM POWER was awkwardly placed inside the heels of ALL FRIENDS which got its head on the side and shifted in. After the 900 Metres, FIONN’S DRAGON proved very difficult to settle, got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of GRAND DANCER. Near the 600 Metres, ABSOLUTE FANTASY was steadied after racing in restricted room between ALL FRIENDS and COSTA DEL SOL. After the 400 Metres, QUANTUM POWER was checked away from the heels of SUPER BROTHER when attempting a run between that horse and DILIGENT III where there was insufficient room. After this, QUANTUM POWER had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 200 Metres. For some distance approaching the 200 Metres, SICHUAN LEGEND had difficulty obtaining clear running. In the Straight, FIONN’S DRAGON got its head on the side and hung in. Throughout the race, COSTA DEL SOL travelled wide and without cover. Following the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on TALLEY CLOSE at the request of Trainer A T Millard. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GRAND DANCER had lost its left front plate. A veterinary inspection of EVERYBODY SINGS after the race did not show any significant findings. FAY FAY and FIONN’S DRAGON were sent for sampling.
