Racing Incident Report
After beginning awkwardly, ABLE DRAGON was bumped by MEDIC CHAMPION which shifted in at the start and as a consequence lost ground. Also after beginning awkwardly, POLYGOLD was taken across behind runners soon after the start. From a wide barrier, NOBLE TWINS was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SUPER GALILEO got its head on the side, lay in and as a consequence became awkward on the heels of CLASSA. Also passing the winning post on the first occasion, CLASSA was steadied to avoid the heels of SONOFTHEWEST (M Du Plessis) which shifted in when not fully clear. M Du Plessis was reminded of his obligation to provide sufficient clearance. Soon afterwards, CLASSA (H W Lai) then shifted in, resulting in EASY GOLD being steadied. H W Lai was also told to ensure he is fully clear when shifting ground. When the pace steadied at the 1100 Metres, SUPER GALILEO was steadied away from the heels of SONOFTHEWEST and shifted out into a three wide position. ABLE DRAGON, which was following, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SUPER GALILEO. After racing wide and without cover in the early stages, CONQUEROR was allowed to stride forward after the 1000 Metres to take up a position closer to the rail. From the 600 Metres, SUPER GALILEO was left racing wide and without cover. For some distance passing the 200 Metres, EASY GOLD raced tight inside CLASSA which shifted in slightly. A veterinary inspection of MIGHTY FEELING, SUPER GALILEO and NOBLE FLIER after the race did not show any significant findings. ABLE DRAGON, EASY GOLD and CLASSA were sent for sampling.
<30/9/2011 Additional Veterinary Report> MIGHTY FEELING, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. MIGHTY FEELING was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D E Ferraris yesterday afternoon. He said at this time he noted the horse to be stiff and sore with restricted action. Before being allowed to race again, MIGHTY FEELING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
NOBLE FLIER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. NOBLE FLIER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D Cruz yesterday afternoon. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg and stiff behind. Before being allowed to race again, NOBLE FLIER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
