Racing Incident Report
LUCKY TOGETHER was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY TOGETHER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. After being loaded, WELL FIT became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, WELL FIT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. SOUNDS SPEEDY began awkwardly. GLORY HORSIE and TANG PALACE were slow to begin. After the 700 Metres, GLORY HORSIE was left racing wide and without cover. Near the 650 Metres, LUCKY SUPREME was steadied away from the heels of WELL FIT. WORLD HOLD ON, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence. Shortly after entering the Straight, TANG PALACE shifted in when attempting to obtain clear running between SOUNDS SPEEDY and WELL FIT and then near the 250 Metres was shifted out across the heels of SOUNDS SPEEDY. When questioned, T Angland stated that he rode WELL FIT along near the 800 Metres to maintain its position to the inside of FULL TANK in an attempt to prevent that horse from being able to shift in. He said however that passing the 800 Metres WELL FIT got its head on the side, as it did in its most recent race, and was reluctant to maintain its position to the inside of FULL TANK. He said when this happened, WELL FIT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FULL TANK for some distance and approaching the 600 Metres continued to shift out and made contact with GLORY HORSIE. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on LUCKY SUPREME at the request of Trainer A T Millard. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. FULL TANK and FLYING UNICORN were sent for sampling.
