Racing Incident Report
DECAGONAL began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped SAMMY’S FORTUNE. Then shortly after the start, DECAGONAL, which was hard ridden to obtain a more forward position, was steadied away from the heels of SAMMY’S FORTUNE which shifted in. From the outside barrier, SOUND OF SILENCE was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 1200 Metres, SAMMY’S FORTUNE raced tight inside DECAGONAL which at this time was taken in momentarily by AIPODER IMAGE. At the entrance to the Straight, TRAVEL LEADER became unbalanced when bumped by EPEE DE HUA which shifted out. Throughout the race, TRAVEL LEADER raced wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the performance of BERNINI, Z Purton stated that the horse did not travel at any stage in the race tonight and raced disappointedly. A veterinary inspection of BERNINI and SMART CODE after the race did not show any significant findings. DR WELL, ROMANCING TAMAR and AIPODER IMAGE were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that DECAGONAL had lost its left front plate.
