Racing Incident Report

After being loaded, WASABISABI attempted to sit down. WASABISABI was unloaded from the gates before being reloaded in an endeavour to have the horse stand properly. WASABISABI was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. WASABISABI was then slow to begin. Having in mind that WASABISABI had previously been barred for incidents arising out of its barrier manners, the Stewards ruled that WASABISABI must satisfactorily undertake a series of consecutive official barrier trials prior to racing again. GALLANT MASTER was slow to begin. Near the 1300 Metres, WASABISABI was momentarily steadied away from the heels of DREAMS MAKER which shifted in. Making the first turn, HIGH INTELLIGENT was steadied away from the heels of SUPER PLUS which shifted in when barely clear. Approaching the 600 Metres, BIG WINNER AGAIN and HIGH INTELLIGENT bumped as BIG WINNER AGAIN shifted out from behind SUPER PLUS. FOREST STAR was unable to obtain clear running until near the 200 Metres. Passing the 200 Metres, MARIACHI shifted out abruptly. After this, MARIACHI got its head on the side and continued to hang out, resulting in WASABISABI and TOY STORY having to be checked when taken out. As MARIACHI had previously shifted ground abruptly under pressure in a race, the Stewards ruled that MARIACHI must perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial prior to racing again. In the Straight, BELIEVE IN CHANGE got its head on the side and hung out. Throughout the race, SHINING SPUR travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of SUPER PLUS after the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being permitted to race again, SUPER PLUS will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of MARIACHI after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER PLUS, BELIEVE IN CHANGE and FOREST STAR were sent for sampling.
