Racing Incident Report

EXCEPTIONAL ART and QUICK TOUCH were slow to begin. Despite being ridden along in the early part of the race, LU YUE failed to muster speed. Then near the 900 Metres, LU YUE was left racing wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of LU YUE, which finished at the rear of the field, after the race did not show any significant findings. Approaching the 1200 Metres, QUICK TOUCH was steadied away from the heels of LU YUE which shifted in when barely clear. Approaching the 100 Metres, FIRM OFFER was steadied and shifted to the inside of MASTER POWER when disappointed for running to the outside of that horse and inside GRAND DRAGON. For some distance after this, FIRM OFFER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MASTER POWER which shifted in slightly. Over the concluding stages, EXCEPTIONAL ART, which was closing off the race strongly, was steadied when crowded for room inside BERIO which got its head on the side and shifted in away from FIRM OFFER. Because of this, BERIO and EXCEPTIONAL ART were not ridden out to the end of the race as they normally would be. Close to the finishing line, DANZULU hung in, resulting in its rider, B Prebble, being obliged to stop riding and straighten his mount. ALWAYS SOMETHING, MASTER POWER and FIRM OFFER were sent for sampling.
